About Me

•  I'm a musician - you can check out songs and beats I've made on the music page.

•  I have been drawing for a while, and when I lived in Nigeria, I won a three awards for my artworks. The first two awards were at the state level when I was 8 and 15 years old, and the third was at the national level, also when I was 15. I try to constantly improve my art skills, because I value mastery.

•  The Love Network is a t-shirt company which I started while I was at Cornell University. [website link here] I make the t-shirt designs, and they are all gorilla-themed. On the 'drawings and designs page on this site, I have some sketches and designs for The Love Network which I haven't yet made available as t-shirts. I'm improving on those designs. Soon you'll be able to get a nicer t-shirt! :)

•  A little more about art: I think there is a lot to be said for visually pleasing objects. Whether it's the Mona Lisa or the iPod, a great drawing or a beautifully designed website - they usually have a pleasing effect on our aesthetic senses. I've always been interested in the elements of design and aesthetics that make people want to look at something...and be attracted to it. Sometimes, when I'm walking by a well-made sign, I look at it for a while - I try to see how the chosen font helps in delivering the message, what color combination was used - and the effect it has on the overall message. I like to design graphics and draw. Ultimately a lot of this is a quest to create beauty or perfection. I try to work efficiently, and at the same time, put in my best. Allow me to include a Michelangelo quote...

"A good artist ougt never to alow the impetuosity of his nature to overcome his sense of the main end of art, perfection."
- Michelangelo

Moving on from art, I'm also very interested in what human beings are capable of achieving or becoming. One of my main focuses with regards to this is thoughts, and the mind. It's my belief that just as 'The Matrix' was about hacking the matrix which enabled them to do some of the impossible things in the physical world, that's analogous to what thoughts can do for a person - which is what I think the deeper meaning of the movie is about too. The world is changed first from the inside peoples minds, then it shows on outside. We change our reality from the inside out too. It all starts with the mind.

Allow me to include this quote by the Buddha (which means 'enlightened one')...

"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him."
- Buddha

Ultimately, I believe that thoughts are very important, because they do shape our reality and our experiences. The more I create, the more I see how creativity is greatly influenced by thoughts and mind-set. I also see how truly great ideas and creations usually/only come when somebody is happy/without doubt/confident. On the other side of the same coin is the fact that fear and negative emotions totally get in the way of creating beauty.

Anyways...enough of this philosophy! :)
